SDMM Calls for Deployment of National Guard to our Southern Border

San Diego, CA – Due to the senseless murder of a life-long rancher in Arizona last Saturday by a suspected Mexican drug smuggler, and the growing violence all along our border with Mexico, The San Diego Minutemen are hereby demanding the immediate redeployment of armed National Guard troops to our Southern Border in all four border states.  We call on the Obama Administration and all four border Governors to take immediate action to secure our southern border from the armed and dangerous Mexican smugglers and cartel members who cross into America daily and threaten and kill our innocent citizens.

  

The execution of Rob Krentz, 58, on his large family ranch over 10 miles north of the border in Southeast Arizona highlights the growing drug war spilling over from Mexico.  Border Patrol and local LE have lost control of our border region along much of the 2000 mile border.  Our border residents and ranchers are being terrorized daily by these armed and dangerous foreign insurgents and criminals.

  

“Our border communities have been overrun with dangerous criminals from Mexico for many years now and its getting worse.  All we ever get from Washington is lip service.  How many Americans will die before the politicians actually take steps to protect our citizens?”, said Minuteman border activist Ken Lester of San Diego.

  

The U.S. Government pandering to Mexico and Mexican citizens with talk of free healthcare and amnesty for 20 million illegal trespassers stops today.  Such promises are creating a stampede into America of unknown foreign citizens with devastating results.  Immediate action must be taken to regain control of our southern territory. 

  

The blood of Rob Krentz, his dog, and any other Americans harmed by foreign criminals or terrorists operating on our soil is now on the hands of President Obama, Secretary Napolitano, and Congress for failing to secure our border with a secure double fence and adequate border guards.

Arizona need to take the bull by the horns and just take action. Stop waiting or asking the Federal Government or its agencies. The State HAS the authority to “keep Troops” because the US is at War.  We are engaged in several wars that Congress has never concluded. The obvious one is the War on Terror, but there are several others which include the War on Drugs. 
 
The State can do it themselves!! Arizona does not need Napolitano or any Federal Agency approval.  We are at War and do not need the Consent of Congress. The Governor can JUST DO IT!!  AZ is facing an acute security threat and the Governor has Supreme Authority in all measures of security and safety.  The Legislature can make laws in due process, but that does not preclude the Governors duty to guarantee safety to the citizenry.
 
The Governor can begin transitioning and training law enforcement into State Troops as she sees fit. Meanwhile the Legislature will have to begin to draft appropriate legislation.
 
I recommend you inform your Governor of her responsibility and reminder her of her authority.  She should be forming military Troops immediately.
 
Art 1, Sect 10 Clause 3 says: No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.
 
The Governor can inform the Mexican Government they must be responsible for their citizens crossing into Arizona or Arizona will consider it an act of War. This can be done directly from this clause.  The States have sovereignty to protect themselves. It takes a Governor with the backbone to JUST DO IT.

The discussion about comprehensive solutions is over.  Words are no longer necessary.  The discussion is now human rights and border secutity.  The discussion must be centered on American citizen’s human rights and our government’s unwillingness to secure our southern border.  It is not the government’s inability to secure the border, but it’s the government’s desire to continue to allow the United States to be a safety valve supporting Mexico’s desire to remain a peon state.

Although the fatal shot that killed Rob Krentz was fired by an illegal alien, there is no doubt that the United States government is complicit in this horrendous crime.  As stated in the below article, Tom Tancredo had visited rancher Krentz four years ago and was visiting Cochise County for a Tea Party when he got the news about Rob Krentz’s murder.  Border Patrol is tracking two illegal aliens thought to be headed back to Mexico.  Tom Tancredo is calling for National Guard because Napolitano has lied about the border being more secure than any time in history.  Rancher Krentz is not the only martyr to failed policy.  Each and every day 25 Americans die at the hands of illegal aliens.  Each and every year that equals three times the number that died at the WTC on 9/11.  Where’s the outrage ? Where’s their memorial?

Escalating violence along our borders must be stopped.  The aroma of amnesty is now fueling an already out of control invasion from the south.  The tens of thousands crossing our borders illegally from the south are now creating mischief and engaging in criminal behavior. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Bob’s family.

The body of Rancher Rob Krentz and his dog were found shot to death on his ranch.  Krentz, who always was good-natured and willing to help people, had called in that he had found an illegal alien at one of his watering holes and was assisting him.  That was the last that was heard from him before his body was discovered.
Rob Krentz was a lifelong rancher in Southeastern Arizona, 12 miles north of the U.S./Mexico border and 25 miles northeast of the city of Douglas.  He was the father of three children.  The ranch has been in his family for three generations, more than 100 years – since 1907, and sits on about 35,000 acres with 1,000 head of cattle.  Running a ranch is hard work and with the influx of illegal aliens increasing, Rob was at ground zero of the stampede that is destroying the fragile desert landscape.
The Krentz family has received numerous threats in the past by illegal aliens trespassing on their property.  In 2002, the family was physically threatened when one of them stumbled upon a group of 39 illegal aliens.  They were told to get off the land and they made threats.  The Border Patrol did catch the illegal aliens after they were called, but we all know that illegal aliens, if deported, come right back across.
In 1999, Krentz and his wife Susan did an interview with PBS when they came around asking about the issue of illegal immigration and its impacts on the local ranchers.
“We’ve been broken into,” Susan Krentz told PBS.

“One time,” Rob said “You know, we’ve personally been broke in once.  And they took about $700 worth of stuff.  And you know, if they come in and ask for water, I’ll still give them water. I – you know, that’s just my nature.”
In 2003, Congressman Tom Tancredo mentioned the challenges of the border ranchers, and in particular highlighted the the Krentz family’s plight.
“In the month of November, 2002, in the Tucson Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol … where the Krentz ranch is located, the Border Patrol apprehended 23,000 border crossers,” Tancredo wrote. “many people would suggest that the [apprehension] ratio is just about maybe one in five, and that is a very conservative estimate. … I think it is closer to one in ten”.
That means in that sector alone for one month, 8 years ago, the most conservative estimate is that 115,000 illegal aliens crossed the border in that one chunk of land in the Tucson sector.  All of the illegals are unknown.
Tancredo notes that the Krentz’s did mention to him that they called the Border Patrol.  In one instance illegal aliens had butchered one of his calves.

In February [2002] … a calf was butchered by illegal alien trespassers.  Two men responsible were caught.  They were tried.  They were found guilty.  They served a total of 51 days in jail.  They were also ordered to pay $200 in restitution to the Krentz ranch.  The Krentz ranch has not seen a cent of that money; and, of course, our best guess is they will not because these people have been released.  They either came back into the population up here in the U.S.A. or returned to Mexico.

Tancredo goes into the cases of deliberate sabotage of the Krentz ranch’s water supply and the other impacts on the Krentz’s by illegal aliens.  You can read more, where Tancredo dubs the Krentzs American Homeland Heroes
6 years after the PBS interview, in 2005, Krentz did an interview with KOLD as the number of illegal aliens exploded.
“We’re being over-run, and it’s costing us lots and lots of money,” Krentz said.
“We figured it up over the last five years and it’s cost us over $8 million,” Krentz said.  “Cattle don’t like people walking through, so they move.  So, cattle weight loss, destruction of fences, breaking our pipelines, they break them in two and (the pipes) run for two or three days before we find it.”
Krentz went on to say that when he was a boy he actually knew the few illegal aliens that came through looking for work, he said it’s nothing like that now as hundreds of unknown illegals stream across his land.
Rob Krentz is just one of the many people who live and work along our southern border.  A tough, hard working man who was trying to make a living and doing what he loved.  Those who support illegal aliens will talk about “human rights”, but where were the “human rights” when it came to Rob Krentz?  Where was the government to protect our border and prevent this from happening, though they’ve been told time and time again?  They didn’t protect his property rights, nor his civil rights.
This country failed Robert Krentz, his family and all who work for him. As they have failed countless families all across this country. The number of deaths is estimated to be from 15-25 deaths caused by illegal aliens each day in this country.
It is not known yet whether Krentz was specifically targeted or whether it was just one of the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who come across our border every year who have actual criminal records, but in the end does it matter?  A hard working man was killed on his own land.  And all for just trying to help out someone in need.
And that is simply outrageous.
Rest in peace Robert Krentz, the country will surely miss a great and kind man like you.

Participants At Pennsylvania Constitution and Libertarian Party Conventions Saturday, March 27th, 2010 closed ranks with George Washington’s assertion of power remaining in hands of America’s citizenry.  Both parties embrace limited government principles.  Both parties recognize elected officials are in office to represent constituent to government, not represent government to constituent or work to impose government edicts on constituents. 

Participants at Constitution and Libertarian conventions last Saturday overwhelmingly endorsed Tim Cox’s GOOOH (“Go”) Project process for selecting candidates for elected offices.  Pennsylvania GOOOH members numbered over 2,000 as of Friday, March 26th, according to GOOOH State Coordinator, Tom Viehman.  Constitution Party National Chair, Jim Clymer, and co-Chair, Daryl Castle, personally told me they were going to call for Constitution Party members to use GOOOH’s candidate selection process nationwide.  Pennsylvania State Senator Mike Folmer told Tim Cox he, Folmer, was behind GOOOH project without reservation.  These convention outcomes are not surprising or misleading.  GOOOH is a method designed to bolster election of true citizen government representatives chosen by binding contracts with constituents, regardless of political party affiliation.  Candidates elected using GOOOH’s method will not be beholding to special interest, financial backers, party dictates, or pressure from leadership in office.  They will answer only to their constituents, period.

Tim Cox’s GOOOH Project has coordinators in every commonwealth and state.  Anyone with a desire to have a greater say in self-government and promote citizen sovereignty should contact their GOOOH state coordinators and form GOOOH support groups.  Type GOOOH in any Internet search engine. 

 

National Public Radio/Public Radio International (NPR/PRI), this morning, ran a clip on how House Speaker Pelosi was so strong and instrumental in forcing members to vote in favor of recently enacted H. R. 3590 (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)).  One example reported was how Pelosi would not allow members to leave meetings till she accomplished her PPACA objectives.  Speaker Pelosi’s power is not at issue.  Why any member would think they must defer to a House Speaker, a President, or any other elected official is at issue.  Elected officials have one responsibility and only one – to uphold their constituent’s wishes, as America’s first President reminds us.

Time-Tested Principles don’t change regardless of legislation, taxation, and regulation:    1.  Laws Are LAWS.  2. TAXES are a COST OF DOING BUSINESS.   3.  Every tax is a tax ON OUR PROPERTY.  4.  CONSUMERS PAY FOR EVERYTHING.  It behooves “We, the People” to not lose sight of these precepts.

 

Americans Will Have Opportunities to apply and strengthen their heritage of self-government in 2010 elections (as they have every day) provided they are willing to exercise sovereignty accorded them by their national and commonwealth/state Constitutions and oversee their government.  Do not allow passage of legislation, taxation, or regulation unless it first withstands exhaustive public scrutiny, unless it does not reduce Americans’ discretionary income, and unless it gains public consent through voter approval.  Promote GOOOH Project throughout legislative districts and stop another H.R. 3590 from becoming one more example of selective, arbitrary, and discriminatory legislation threatening American’s heritage of self-determination through self-government.  Stand by America’s first President’s proclamation of citizen sovereignty.

 I AM RE-SENDING MY MESSAGE FROM MONDAY, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING.

The so-called elites, you know the ones who criticized us for not showing respect to our government in Washington have managed to trample the Constitution, completely against the will of the people they have passed Obamacare.

 

 Don’t think the millions of people who nationwide, marched against this criminal act, just as the Minutemen marched on the border and in cities across the country to bring awareness to a most serious issue. Some people thought it made a difference, others did not. We know we had an effect and the credit goes to all our courageous and disciplined volunteers who have always behaved like Americans should.

Only now the mood of the country has changed.

 

I’m afraid that for many citizens, the passing of health care against the will of the people and now indications that Obama will try to pass amnesty may be the straw that will break the spirit, or may be the straw that ignites frustration that we, as an organization, may not be able to manage or contain.

 

Recently I sent out an email announcing a renewed call to ACTION to the border just as Chris Simcox did way back in October, 2002.

 

The replies to my e mail were dramatic and has shown me that people are fed up. Thousands opened the e mail, hundreds replied and are ready.  The response was dramatic in two ways; some people were absolutely against our new SOP that I encouraged Chris to write for us. He was reluctant but pitched in to help support my plans.

 

For others the response was overwhelmingly positive, in fact we had far more people respond than in a long time. But it was obvious that many had decided to return to the border who had tired of the sometimes futile watch and observe methods. It showed me that people are not willing to be silenced anymore; it also showed me that people will be less likely to follow the rules of engagement in a desperate attempt to stop the criminals who violate our borders every day.

 
That is not what we want and we cannot take the reponsibility for this. 
 
 

This has brought me to the conclusion that the anger may not be directed by every individual against their government; I realize people have HAD IT!
We have a responsibility to protect our volunteers, our corporation and the land owners who have been so supportive of our efforts, even under great risk of liability if we ever made a mistake.
We cannot and will not jeopardize all the years of positive activism we have shown over the last 8 years. We will also not jeopardize the gracious help we have received from the ranchers who have supported us in the last 8 years.

 

So with this email I announce that as MCDC, we will no longer hold the March border muster in Az. 2010

 

 Future musters will be announced soon.

 

 We have come to the conclusion to dissolve the National corporation. There is not need for a national corporation anymore, many of our chapters have incorporated themselves in the last year to be independent and that is good. 
 

I tried to encourage Chris to return and manage the operation but he is committed to supporting JD Hayworth’s campaign for the U.S. Senate. I have a business to run and cannot be there enough to oversee the operation. Without a leader and a full time staff of sector chiefs to supervise, I cannot take the liability and will not put the landowners in that position.
 
 

 This organization has grown too big for its own good; or rather, the problem has grown too big and serious for us to manage.
I predict soon the violence will spill over the border (it already is) and I predict Americans, on their own, will lock, load and do what the feckless cowards in Washington refuse to do - We don’t advocate violance in any way, let us face it, the revolution has to take place in this election by voting shameless elites out of office and putting good candidates in their place. But it is up to us to present these candidates. 

 
 Our internal chapters who have incorporated have all the tools and and have done an outstanding job and will keep going. On the border and in the legislature.

Simply put, we have taught thousands of people what they should do; now it is up to them to do it. We are all Minutemen now but we are no longer on the border as MCDC, that corporation will no longer exist, except in the history books. Through the individual chapter incorporating you can teach the volunteer right on sight what they need to know and many of them have done this in the last year. You have to register in your state and fundraise on your own as well.
 

It is up to each individual now, you will do what you personally feel is right. You may still go to the border but you are either on your own or you can try to find another group to associate with – you do so at your own risk. I hope you continue as independent Minutemen, you are needed; we are needed to save this country.
 

 For those who are awaiting your I.D. cards I will still at my own expense make sure you all receive your cards, at least as mementos of our efforts. The equipment and resources still belong to the corporation and must be collected and accounted for.

I will then sell off the assets to pay off our remaining expenses.
 
 
It has been an amazing experience and I remain humbled and honored by your dedication and service. I am sure Chris Simcox does too.
 

He may be disappointed that we as the board have made this decision, but I have always respected his choices and he has always supported mine.  I was there with Chris from the beginning so we both deserve the respect and credit for getting us this far. We are both tremendously honored by those who served.  History is again in our hands; your hands; you know what to do – the rest is up to you.

The Herald Scotland reports that experts say the bombs are being assembled for an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Paul Craig Roberts Infowars.com March 18, 2010 Reports indicate the U.S. has sent bunker busters to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. The newspaper quotes Dan Piesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London: “They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran.” The next step will be a staged “terrorist attack,” a “false flag” operation as per Operation Northwoods, for which Iran will be blamed. As Iran and its leadership have already been demonized, the “false flag” attack will suffice to obtain US and European public support for bombing Iran. The bombing will include more than the nuclear facilities and will continue until the Iranians agree to regime change and the installation of a puppet government. The corrupt American media will present the new puppet as “freedom and democracy.” If the past is a guide, Americans will fall for the deception. In the February issue of the American Behavioral Scientist, a scholarly journal, Professor Lance DeHaven-Smith writes that state crimes against democracy (SCAD) involve government officials, often in combination with private interests, that engage in covert activities in order to implement an agenda. Examples include McCarthyism or the fabrication of evidence of communist infiltration, the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution based on false claims of President Johnson and Pentagon chief McNamara that North Vietnam attacked a U.S. naval vessel, the burglary of the office of Daniel Ellsberg’s psychiatrist in order to discredit Ellsberg (the Pentagon Papers) as “disturbed,” and the falsified “intelligence” that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction in order to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq. There are many other examples. I have always regarded the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Office Building in Oklahoma City as a SCAD. Allegedly, a disturbed Tim McVeigh used a fertilizer bomb in a truck parked outside the building. More likely, McVeigh was a patsy, whose fertilizer bomb was a cover for explosives planted inside the building. A number of experts dismissed the possibility of McVeigh’s bomb producing such structural damage. For example, General Benton K. Partin, who was in charge of U.S. Air Force munitions design and testing, produced a thick report on the Murrah building bombing which concluded that the building blew up from the inside out. Gen. Partin concluded that “the pattern of damage would have been technically impossible without supplementary demolition charges at some of the reinforced concrete bases inside the building, a standard demolition technique. For a simplistic blast truck bomb, of the size and composition reported, to be able to reach out on the order of 60 feet and collapse a reinforced column base the size of column A7 is beyond credulity.” Gen. Partin dismissed the official report as “a massive cover-up of immense proportions.” Of course, the general’s unquestionable expertise had no bearing on the outcome. One reason is that his and other expert voices were drowned out by media pumping the official story. Another reason is that public beliefs in a democracy run counter to suspicion of government as a terrorist agent. Professor Laurie Manwell of the University of Guelph says that “false flag” operations have the advantage over truth: “research shows that people are far less willing to examine information that disputes, rather than confirms, their beliefs.” Professor Steven Hoffman agrees: “Our data shows substantial support for a cognitive theory known as ‘motivated reasoning,’ which suggests that rather than search rationally for information that either confirms or disconfirms a particular belief, people actually seek out information that confirms what they already believe. In fact, for the most part people completely ignore contrary information.” Even when hard evidence turns up, it can be discredited as a “conspiracy theory.” All that is necessary for success of “false flag” or “black ops” events is for the government to have its story ready and to have a reliable and compliant media. Once an official story is in place, thought and investigation are precluded. Any formal inquiry that is convened serves to buttress the already provided explanation. An explanation ready-at-hand is almost a give-away that an incident is a “black ops” event. Notice how quickly the U.S. government, allegedly so totally deceived by al Qaida, provided the explanation for 9/11. When President Kennedy was assassinated, the government produced the culprit immediately. The alleged culprit was conveniently shot inside a jail by a civilian before he could be questioned. But the official story was ready, and it held. Professors Manwell and Hoffman’s research resonates with me. I remember reading in my graduate studies that the Czarist secret police set off bombs in order to create excuses to arrest their targets. My inclination was to dismiss the accounts as anti-Czarist propaganda by pro-communist historians. It was only later when Robert Conquest confirmed to me that this was indeed the practice of the Czarist secret police that the scales fell from my eyes. Former CIA official Philip Giraldi in his article, “The Rogue Nation,” makes it clear that the U.S. government has a hegemonic agenda that it is pursuing without congressional or public awareness. The agenda unfolds piecemeal as a response to “terrorism,” and the big picture is not understood by the public or by most in Congress. Giraldi protests that the agenda is illegal under both U.S. and international law, but that the illegality of the agenda does not serve as a barrier. Only a naif could believe that such a government would not employ “false flag” operations that advance the agenda. The U.S. population, it seems, is comprised of naifs whose lack of comprehension is bringing ruin to other lands. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps of Arizona is calling on all volunteers as we return to the southern border with Mexico, en mass, beginning Friday afternoon March 26 and lasting until our Congress deploys the U.S military to our borders to defend the United States of America.

On the 8th anniversary of Chris Simcox’ historic Tea Party protest on the border which began in Cochise County, Arizona, this muster will be a defining moment for our nation.

President Obama in legion with John McCain, Lindsey Graham and most of the rest of our impotent and incompetent federal government have continued to exhibit as much contempt for our Constitution, rule of law and ordered society as the illegal aliens, drug dealers and Human smugglers who violate our sacred borders 24/7/365.

For 8 long years we Minutemen played nice; yet for the past 8-years we firmly expressed our opinions and desires for the border to be secured- but this muster will be completely different -President Obama and John McCain have left us no choice -this March we return to the border locked, loaded and ready to stop each and every individual we encounter along the frontier that is now more dangerous than the frontier of Afghanistan.

This operation will not be for the faint of heart.

MCDC volunteers will work under an entirely different SOP; we will approach our duty as citizens as we should – we have a zero tolerance for any and all violations of our border and we will forcefully engage, detain, and defend our lives and country from the criminals who trample over our culture and laws.

Long arms will be allowed and frankly, encouraged. From the surveillance videos we have gathered in the field over the past six months it is more than evident the violators of our borders seem to have been given carte blanc permission to willfully violate our public safety. This time we will not be tempered by political correctness; every single individual we encounter WILL BE apprehended by Border Patrol with our help – even those who dare enter our country armed will be stopped and challenged. Political correctness is a fad of the past. This is for the survival of this great Republic!

Basic SOP changes will be as follows.

You are strongly recommended to bring a long arm – you will be permitted to carry long arms at all times on post as per Arizona State law. Thousands of individuals violate our borders 24/7 with the consent of President Barack Hussein Obama, Janet Napolitano and John McCain – you are strongly encouraged to exercise your rights and duty as an American citizen to carry a long arm and if challenged use it to defend the United States of America – something Obama, Napolitano and McCain refuse to do.

Executive Order Number One, if elected Governor

The State of Arizona has an obligation to its citizens and the Nation. Never again can we allow our country to witness, or be a part of, the theft our nation’s most high office; The Presidency of the United States of America. It is time to take-back our country and return to Constitution rule of law, as we are a nation of laws and not ruled by men. We must respect the Constitution or we will lose our Nation. Therefore, should I be elected as your next Governor I will pledge by Executive Order and institute the following guideline listed below for the State of Arizona.　

The Governor, the Speaker of the House of the Sovereign State of Arizona shall certify that any and all candidates for the office of the President of the United States shall be certified eligible for said candidacy and shall adhere to the following set of requirements:

NOTE: Unless all certified documents are received, verified and entered into the record, no candidate shall be listed on any ballot for the Primary or General election of the State of Arizona.
   A certified copy of birth certificate from any of the fifty United States. A copy or original document of live birth will not be accepted.

Certified copies of all school transcripts, K-12 , and any college records.

Certified copies of military discharge papers (DD-214) and any school records the candidate may have attended while in the military service.

Copy of current Drivers License and Social Security card.

Certified copies of medical shot records.

Candidates will be subject to a NCIC check and background check accomplished by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Said investigations will report directly to the Governor, Speaker of the House, and the Attorney General of the State.

Any requests for additional documents by the State must be requested of the candidate no later than 60 days before the Primary election in Arizona. Any candidate failing to comply with the request for additional documents shall be notified by Certified US Mail of the failure to comply. The candidate shall then have 15 days to respond in writing. If said documents are unavailable, the candidate will respond by certified letter to the Governor, and copied to the Speaker of the House; they then will either accept or deny the petition by the candidate. A denial will mean a “No list” on the Primary and General election ballots.

You’d think the Obama administration is busy enough controlling the banks, insurance companies and automakers, but thanks to whistleblowers at the Department of the Interior, we now learn they’re planning to increase their control over energy-rich land in the West.

A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job- creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that’s essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.

President Obama could enact the plans in this memo with just the stroke of a pen, without any input from the communities affected by it.

At a time when our national unemployment rate is 9.7 percent, it is unbelievable anyone would be looking to stop job-creating energy enterprises, yet that’s exactly what’s happening.

The document lists 14 properties that, according to the document, “might be good candidates” for Mr. Obama to nab through presidential proclamation. Apparently, Washington bureaucrats believe it’s more important to preserve grass and rocks for birdwatchers and backpackers than to keep these local economies thriving.

Administration officials claim the document is merely the product of a brainstorming session, but anyone who reads this memo can see that it is a wish list for the environmentalist left. It discusses, in detail, what kinds of animal populations would benefit from limiting human activity in those areas.

The 21-page document, marked “Internal Draft-NOT FOR RELEASE,” names 14 different lands Mr. Obama could completely close for development by unilaterally designating them as “monuments” under the 1906 Antiquities Act.

It says all kinds of animals would be better off by doing so, like the coyotes, badgers, grouse, chickens and lizards. But giving the chickens more room to roost is no reason for the government to override states’ rights.

Rep. Robert Bishop, Utah Republican, made the memo public because he didn’t want another unilateral land grab by the White House, like what happened under former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Using the Antiquities Act, President Carter locked up more land than any other president had before him, taking more than 50 million acres in Alaska despite strong opposition from the state.

President Clinton used the authority 22 times to prohibit hunting, recreational vehicles, mining, forestry and even grazing in 5.9 million acres scattered around the country. The law allowed him to single-handedly create 19 new national monuments and expand three others without consulting anyone.

One of the monuments President Clinton created was the Grande Staircase-Escalante in Utah, where 135,000 acres of land were leased for oil and gas and about 65,000 barrels of oil were produced each year from five active wells. But, President Clinton put an end to developing those resources.

President Obama could do the same in other energy-rich places unless Congress takes action. At least 13.5 million acres are already on his Department of Interior’s real estate shopping list.

This includes a 58,000-acre area in New Mexico. The memo said this should be done so the lesser prairie chicken and the sand dune lizard will be better protected. Are these animals going extinct? No. The bureaucrats wrote that the land should be locked up to “avoid the necessity of listing either of these species as threatened or endangered.”

In Nevada, the Obama administration might make another monument in the Heart of the Great Basin because it, supposedly, is a “center of climate change scientific research.”

In Colorado, the government is considering designating the Vermillion Basin as a monument because it is “currently under the threat of oil and gas development.”

Americans should be wary of any plans a president has to seize land from the states without their consent. Any new plans to take away states’ freedom to use land as they see fit must be stopped.

That’s why I sponsored an amendment to block Mr. Obama from declaring any of the 14 lands listed in the memo as “monuments.” Unfortunately, the Senate, led by Democrats, rejected it on Thursday evening by a vote of 58-38.

It was particularly disappointing that the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of Nevada, voted against the amendment. The government owns more than 80 percent of the land in Nevada and the unemployment rate there is 12.8 percent. Surely it would help job prospects if more land were open for business.

This is a nationwide problem. The government currently owns 650 million acres, or 29 percent of the nation’s total land.

Federal bureaucrats shouldn’t be wasting time thinking up ways to acquire more, especially in the middle of a recession. Taking the nation’s resources offline will stifle job creation and dry up tax revenues.

If anything, the government should be selling land off, not locking more up. By voting against my amendment, the Democrats tacitly endorsed Mr. Obama’s secret plan to close off millions more acres to commerce.

If enacted, the plan would mean fewer jobs for Americans.

All of these issues we face have solutions.  The problem as I see it we try to make the solutions to complicated.  We allow lawyers, union leaders, bureaucrats in to the room and the next thing you know you have this pile of paper, stacking of regulations, designed to do nothing more than justify a bunch of do nothing government employees.

Lets take this issue of health care for example. Rather than let the socialist progressives take control of 1/6th of our economy. What if we just put more money in the pockets of Americans so they can afford to buy their own insurance or develop HSA’s ‘. One key point here is however these HSA’s, should have oversight by the states not the federal government.

We have an easy answer too much of the cost of Health Care and Health Insurance questions and it is this.  We put an end to the IRS and the 1040.  We move to the fair tax, across the board, point of sale, 12% tax on consumer goods.  That is city, county, state, and federal combined. 12% percent point of sale,  Period . Then we size our government city, county, state and federal to that income. Period.  We totally flip the system.  During this campaign for Governor, this is a proposal that I am trying to drive home.

Too make my point.  Imagine you walk into this very large Super Center. Independent business’s everywhere you look.  Booths of small business’s making things and selling them. Vendors of all sizes and shapes selling their goods and services.  Then over in the corner, there is a very small booth. The banner over the booth says, Government.  That’s what we have got to get back to. This example is for you folks from Harvard and Yale.

We spend 350 to 400 billion every year in America on tax filing preparation costs. And then there are the billions of dollars that are lost due to tax cheats like Timothy Gietner, and Charlie Rangel.  Lets not forget the billions of dollars that float through the under ground economy, such as illegal aliens sending cash out of the country via western union,.. Fifteen to Sixteen Billion every year are the estimates.

The idea here is we could fund our own health care costs if the Internal Revenue Service became a part of our history. No federal government involvement whatsoever. Everyone would be paying taxes, no exceptions.

Most States have Insurance Commissioners. They should be charged first to go to work, earn their keep, and keep insurance companies on their toes.  Federal government has no business being involved in health care.  Medicare and Medicaid are bankrupting this state.  We should be able to buy across state lines, and if you want to sue someone, you had better be prepared to pay up if you lose.

Western states have allowed the federal government to create another problem. Because much of the land, that could be producing tax revenue. Is tied up in federal jurisdiction. Which prevents the citizens from generating free enterprise. Utah is in the process of addressing that issue as we speak. If I’m elected here in Arizona, we will begin the process of reclaiming our state land, immediately and take steps to create revenue from those lands and the natural resources that they incorporate.  Over the years states have gotten lazy, depended on federal dollars to operate on (bribes) if you will. We will turn off the spicket coming and going.

We need to flip the system.  We must cut 55-65% of state spending costs across the board. We must eliminate dozens of agencies and costs. Looking through the state budget report is like reading Alice in Wonderland.

Look at what Gov Christi is facing in New Jersey.  Massive state debt, (like Arizona) massive legacy costs, (like Arizona). Massive Union labor costs government and teachers health care and pensions  again, just like Arizona.

The cold hard truth is we are broke, and we can no longer afford these taxpayer funded entitlements. Why should working class Americans pay for these mega pensions and long- term health care for government employees?  They shouldn’t and it has to stop. And double dipping must end.

This morning on Imus, Don was promoting a book. That I have been waiting for someone to write for decades.  The book title is “ Animal Factories” By David Kirby. Having grown up on a livestock farm in Kansas. I watched the decline in family farms do to the government, special interest groups that wanted to destroy rural family farming. They encouraged the mega factory farms through, lobbyist, legislation, farm subsidies, and intimidation. Senator Charles Grassley was and is right at the top as a co- conspirator in destroying rural ag.   This book is long overdue. If you’re a parent or grandparent and you are wondering were all these super bug diseases are coming from, this book will lay it all out for you.

I have been addressing rural agriculture issues at my solo campaign events. We must flip our agriculture industry up side down.  We must create incentives for rising generations to stay on the family farm.

Instead of one hired hand driving a 240 hp 4- wheel drive, 20- bottom plow tractor.  We need 4 sons or daughters driving a 60 hp 4-wheel drive, 5- bottom plow tractor. We need our live stock, feeder steers, hogs at butcher weight, fryers, going to a local processor for local consumption.  I was at an event in Willcox, Arizona a week ago, talking to a beef producer. He told me that the weasels in the forest service were talking about cutting his pasture allotment 83%.  He also told me that over the years he had a rancher in Oklahoma that would come out and buy his yearling calves. Take them back to Oklahoma and finish them out. Why? . Because they were born in the mountains, they were hearty, healthy and because of that he had no vet bill. No drugs, or antibiotics needed to pump into these calves to bring them up to slaughter weight.

Folks these are issues that we must tackle as a state. Your next Governor must understand these issues and get involved with our ag producers.  Arizona needs everyone working and producing. The Federal Government and the U.S Department of Agriculture is getting in the way.  Its time to send them packing.
