Last Week In Review
Several years ago, on a flight from OKC to Wichita Kansas. I asked Bob Dole , why it was that whenever he was on Meet the Press. He would tell the viewers that they, that is Congress or the President , were going to balance the budget, end deficit spending, end the war in Viet Nam or where ever we might meddling in someone else’s business at the time. That they were going to accomplish those objectives outside the next election cycle. He told me flat-out that it was because the American people have no memory. He said that what ever we say on Sunday morning, by Friday they have forgotten what we said and it’s a whole new ball game.
Well apparently McCain is still operating under that same old theory. Because in the debate last Friday night he kept saying he never voted for amnesty. Good grief man you wrote the bill.
In my view there was one statesman in that debate, his name is Jim Deakin.
Thursday I had a chance to hear Dr. Frank Luntz. He was speaking to a group hosted by the Goldwater Institute. It was ironic because his speech was in large measure targeting candidates for office. And of course besides my self others were there as well. Towards the end of the speech . Frank asked the crowd if there were any questions. Earlier , at the table I was sitting at , the issue of Obama’s eligibility came up. So when the number of questions slowed down , I raised my hand. Frank acknowledged me and I asked the obvious . “Frank, in the next session of the Arizona legislature, the issue of certifying future presidents is going to be presented to the House Senate and the next Governor. Do you think that the other 38 states that have been following Arizona’s lead will follow suit.” He seemed shaken, then said do you mean the birther issue. And I responded in the affirmative. To the amazement of my table, the crowd did not like the question. As we heard “oh no’s and ah’s.” His answer was “no , we must vote him out in 2012” . Then later someone asked him who he thought could beat him (Obama) in 2012. Franks response was, “ I believe Obama will win in 2012” And again the crowd responded with oh no’s and ah’s.
I think its fair to say that this group , that came to see one of the leading political pollsters in the country were Republicans. After the speech I bought one of Franks books. When it came time for him to sign mine, I handed him my campaign card. He looked up and I said. “I was taking a poll, Frank” he grinned signed my book and I moved on.
Here’s the point and it demonstrates how out of touch many republicans are regarding this occupant in the White House. It was like half of them had drunk the Bill O’Rielly cool aid. Most of us know that Obama is not Constitutionally eligible to be President, let alone Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces. I’m a veteran, in my view the fact that we are setting a precedent by allowing a foreigner to sit in the most powerful office in the world. Is a slap in the face of every soldier, sailor, airman, marine, that has fought , and or died for my country. It disgraces every family that lost family members in the line of duty for our country.
In the 2012 presidential election. I believe Dr. Luntz is correct. There is no way there will be enough Constitutional Freedom Loving American voters. That will stand up against the Socialist regime that he has recruited at the colleges and Universities all across America. Not to mention the illegal aliens that the democrats will find a way to register to vote.
What is really sad, is that at the end of the day , the RNC and Republicans allowed it to happen.
The future of America , now lies in those 38 eight states that have shown their respect for the Constitution and Freedom. The Governors that are elected in 34 of those states will bear the task of rescuing our Freedoms and Liberties from the Socialist, and Marxist .
If the poll I took on Thursday is any indicator, half of the republicans wont be there to help.
