What are the top Five Federal Agencies that need to be eliminated. And why are we stopping there!

During last nights CNBC debate,  Rick Perry said  that he would immediately eliminate three federal agencies, he temporarily had a senior moment and misplaced the Energy Department. However, Ron Paul quickly tried to help his Texas Governor by holding up his hand and showing 5 fingers. Indicating to Gov Perry that  there were five agencies that needed to go away.

Well, many of us take a much different view related to these federal agencies.  If the American people realized just how many agencies that there are in the federal government , and how many federal agencies that are independent of the government but are non the less funded with taxpayer dollars they would stroke out.  If you will click on this link, this will give you and idea of the number of agencies inside the government.

http://www.usa.gov/directory/federal/index.shtml  ,, to save you some  time there are 481 agencies inside the federal government. There are 610 Independent agencies out side of the executive, plus or minus one or two. Giving us a grand total of 1091, one can’t even imagine the dollars that go down a sink hole with these groups.

So when Ron Paul tells America that there are only 5 agencies,   Department  of Energy, Department of Commerce, Department of Education , Department of Interior, and the Department of Housing and Urban  Development , these are a great start , but he’s only scratched the surface.

Adding the two together there are 1091 agencies , offices, department, then there are the hundreds if not thousands of groups and organizations like LaRaza, environmental groups that are funded by federal tax dollars that do nothing but come back around to bite the taxpayer in the butt. Any if you go thru the list ,  which I have several times over the years, you’ll find that several agencies are doing the same thing as another down the hall.  What we have folks is the largest system of government welfare in the world.  If Ron Paul , or any of the candidates want to stop spending start by reducing the employee levels in every agency by 30%. Then cut their administrative costs by 40%. Then set up an outside of the belt way commission to review the necessity of each agency with an executive mandate to eliminate 50% or more.  Eliminating all duplication.

America is Bankrupt, its surviving on monopoly money.  And its  time we get serious.  Jefferson County Alabama is just the beginning.  States are bankrupt , except for two, Nebraska and  Montana, and Montana is rapidly running out of cash.  Some states brag about having a surplus of cash , without mentioning their outstanding debt.   There’s been some talk lately about teaching a financial literacy course in grade school or high school, that will never happen , because if Americans understood the accounting that goes on in their government, there would be an armed revolution.

Walls Street is currently all wrapped up in the goings on in the EU.  Lets face it, the EU is going to fail. The Big bankers attempt to co mingle , cultures and societies is a flawed endeavor.  It’s like America, thinking that they will bring Democracy to Iraq,Iran,Afghanistan,Syria, Egypt, Libya , it ain’t gonna happen.  We’re just spending money we don’t have.  And killing or wounding thousands in the process.

The Iowa Republican Straw Poll is happening today on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames. The 32-year old event is also a fundraiser for the Iowa Republican Party.

The straw poll traditionally takes place in August in years without an incumbent Republican president running for re-election. Iowa residents over the age of 18 years old can vote for one of the nine Republican candidates on the straw poll ballot.

Six of the candidates will speak at the event including Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Thaddeus McCotter, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, and Rick Santorum. Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney will also appear on the ballot but aren’t expected to make remarks.

Also today, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) is in South Carolina to speak at the RedState conservative blogger convention in Charleston. Gov. Perry is widely expected to declare his candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination. Also participating in the event are South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Sen. Jim DeMint.

C‑SPAN.org and the C‑SPAN networks continue to follow the candidates and campaigns as we enter the 2012 election season. You can join in the conversation on C‑SPAN’s Campaign 2012 Facebook page. Or follow us on twitter.
